REEL DIALOGUE @ NIGHT CHURCH

Held every few months at Turramurra Uniting Church, Reel Dialogue @ Nite Church is not your average evening service.

At 5.30pm we begin a movie, which is followed by lively group discussion and supper. Come along, bring a friend who would not ordinarily come to church.

This is the perfect opportunity to engage with culture without disengaging your faith.

~UPCOMING EVENT DATES~

• September 5, 2010: UP

From Disney•Pixar comes a comedy adventure about 78-year-old balloon salesman Carl Fredricksen, who finally fulfills his lifelong dream of a great adventure when he ties thousands of balloons to his house and flies away to the wilds of South America.

But he discovers all too late that his biggest nightmare has stowed away on the trip: an overly optimistic 8-year-old Wilderness Explorer named Russell.

"Another masterful work of art from Pixar, Up is an exciting, hilarious, and heartfelt adventure impeccably crafted and told with wit and depth."

• November 14, 2010: WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE

Maurice Sendak's classic book comes to the big screen in an adventure tale for every generation. "Where the Wild Things Are" follows the adventure of Max (Max Records), a mischievous young boy who is sent to his room after rebelling against his mother (Catherine Keener). Max's imagination is free to roam, and it soon transports him to a thriving forest bordering a vast sea. Delighted, he sets sail for the land of the Wild Things, where mischief reigns and Max rules. In bringing this imaginative fantasy to life, Jonze leads a team of filmmakers incorporating the most dynamic elements of voice performance, live-action puppetry and computer animation.

"Jonze has succeeded splendidly in making a movie about the challenges of childhood, and it's likely the material will resonate more with the adults who read Wild Things to their children rather than delight the children themselves." COURIER MAIL
